Hope for Japan

I have been with Close To My Heart for almost exactly one year, and in the past 12 months I have been soooo impressed with the high quality of customer service, and the caring heart of our founder, Jeanette Lynton.  Jeanette has designed an exclusive stamp set, for the sole purpose of supporting relief in Japan.  Read in her words what she has to say:

"We've all been reeling with the images of tragedy and devastation in Japan. If you're looking for an easy, real, practical way to help relief efforts, then I invite you to contact your Close To My Heart Consultant!

Typically, our A-size sets retail for $7.95/$8.75 CAN, but the "Hope for Japan" set will be available through April 30 for just $5--and Close To My Heart will be donating 100% of the profits to the American Red Cross to benefit relief efforts in Japan.

If we all do a little, together we can do a lot. Let's show our support and together, provide real HOPE for Japan!

I ordered mine the first day it was available, and I can not wait for it to arrive, to start creating with it!  Contact me for ordering information:  thepaperprincess2@comcast.net, or 540-338-4110.  Thanks for your support!

Sympathy card with Bliss papers

They say things always happen in 3's....unfortunately, that was very true in the month of February.  I had to make 3 sympathy cards for different people.  I learned that I need to make some sympathy cards to have on hand, since time is usually of the essence in these circumstances.  Anyway, I found that the simple elegance of the new Bliss papers are perfect for those times when you want subdued, but gorgeous colors.  Here is one of the cards I made.  The bird was inked with Grey Flannel, and the edges were sponged with Chocolate ink.  So pretty!!  The scalloped border on the side is made with one of my favorite new products, the Kraft Color-Ready Borders.  These little strips of beauty are self-adhesive, and come in 25 different designs.  Each package contains 2 of each design, for a total of 50 strips.  They can be colored, cut, stamped on.....the possibilities are endless!!

Wings journal

In January, my amazing friend Susan decided to become a Close To My Heart consultant.  Yay, Susan!!  I know she will be awesome with this business, and to welcome her to my team, I made her a special journal she can use to take notes, write down ideas, or just jot sketches.   I LOVE these journals....they come with a plastic sleeve on the front, so you can change out the decorated panel if you want.  Or, you can tear the sleeve off, and create something across the entire front of the journal.  So versatile!

It's hard to see in the photo, but the butterfly was inked with Vineyard Berry ink, and the edges sponged with Black ink, for a two-tone look.  I only attached the body of the butterfly, leaving the wings to "float" off the page.

Thanks for visiting!!

Cute "cake" boxes

Last month was the last meeting of one of my clubs.  :-(  The hostess for the month made each of us these awesome pieces of "cake", with the paper from the Wings line, and filled them with candy.  Soooooo adorable!!  She got the template from the online section of Paper Crafts magazine.  You can download the cutting templates here (the templates are found about halfway down the page).

Thanks so much, Patty!!  You're awesome!

Is it Spring yet???????

Hello fellow crafters!!  I'm baaaack!  :-)  How very ironic that my last post was in NOVEMBER, and it was about how I was going to be be more consistent about blogging.  :-)  At any rate, many of you know that around that time my back started bothering me again, and I actually ended up with surgery in February, so I apologize for the blogging void while I've been recuperating.

Since it's been so dark and dreary here, I wanted to make something that brightened up the room a little bit.  This "window box" of flowers fits the bill!!  I will be offering this as a workshop sometime in the near future, so look here for updates, or in my newsletter.  Each flower in the "garden" represents a different technique (well, technically that isn't true....I repeated 2 flowers!).  I used one of my very favorite new paper lines from Close To My Heart, Sophia.  It has such pretty, vibrant colors!  Perfect for those dreary March days!

Enjoy!  Who says it's too early in the season for flowers???  :-)

(Edited to add the details for the workshop:  It will be held at my house on Tuesday, March 22, from 6-9:30pm.  The cost is $15, or $5 with a $25 CTMH purchase.  Please email me at thepaperprincess2@comcast.net to sign up, or for more details.)

(The "wooden" posts were stamped with the wood-grain stamp from the set "Universal Backgrounds", using Bamboo ink.)
